Discover Highway Gomantak

Highway Gomantak in Bandra East, Mumbai, offers an authentic taste of traditional coastal Maharashtrian cuisine, bringing together the freshest local ingredients and time-honored recipes in a vibrant yet cozy setting. Located at Pranav CHSL, Service Rd, near the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority, this charming spot is the perfect place to dive into the rich flavors of Goa and Maharashtra.

The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the place. The decor is simple yet inviting, with subtle hints of coastal elements, making it an ideal space for both casual dinners and family gatherings. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Highway Gomantak provides a laid-back dining experience that feels both personal and special.

One of the standout features of Highway Gomantak is its extensive menu, which showcases the best of seafood, meat, and vegetarian dishes from the Konkan coast. For seafood lovers, the restaurant's fish thali is a must-try. Served with an assortment of freshly prepared dishes, including fried fish, sol kadhi, rice, and spicy chutneys, this thali embodies the bold, tangy flavors that the region is known for. The pomfret fry and bombil fry (Bombay duck) are fan favorites, crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside, leaving a lasting impression with every bite.

For those who prefer non-seafood options, the mutton thali comes highly recommended. The tender mutton is cooked in a blend of aromatic spices, creating a savory and rich dish that pairs perfectly with the soft chapatis or rice. The flavor profile is deep and satisfying, offering a wonderful balance between the spices and the natural sweetness of the meat. Vegetarians will not feel left out, as the restaurant offers a variety of plant-based options that do justice to the authentic Maharashtrian palette, such as the sabudana khichdi and bharleli vangi (stuffed eggplant).

Apart from the thalis, Highway Gomantak also offers an assortment of à la carte options that are perfect for anyone looking to explore more of the local flavors. From the popular Bombay-style pav bhaji to the flavorful baida roti, there's something for everyone. Pair your meal with their refreshing sol kadhi, a tangy coconut-based drink that perfectly balances the richness of the food and cleanses the palate.

What sets Highway Gomantak apart from other local eateries is the consistency in quality. The food here is always fresh, and the chefs take great pride in delivering authentic flavors with each dish. The quality of the ingredients is evident, from the tender seafood to the perfectly cooked meats. Additionally, the service is friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels well taken care of.

The restaurant's location in Bandra East makes it easily accessible for both locals and tourists. Whether you're looking for a quick bite after a busy day or planning a relaxed weekend lunch with family, this spot is ideal for a variety of dining occasions. The cozy atmosphere and exceptional food make it a local favorite, attracting patrons who return for the delightful experience time and again.

With its authentic coastal menu, Highway Gomantak has earned its reputation as one of the top places in Mumbai to enjoy traditional Maharashtrian seafood and thali meals. • In a very long time, I wasn’t filled with such a subtle and home-blend restaurant. Calling it a restaurant might be over exaggerating because this place is run by a family and the authentic Goan food that they serve just makes you feel at home. This charming place is nestled right beside the highway, amidst a small colony of homes. It’s seamlessly blended in, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a family’s home than a resting place. We have got the Surmai Fish Curry Thali and the classic Chicken Masala Thali. Both were just amazing and homely to taste. Their staffs are very friendly and sweet enough that you feel like home. While the quantity of food didn’t quite match the pricing, the quality was great. This is very good place to recommend for a family lunch/dinner. I am sure you won’t be disappointed with it. Enjoy.

  • If you love seafood, this is the place to be! It is a casual, no-frills restaurant specializing in Konkan seafood cuisine. We visited for lunch around noon and were able to place our order without any wait. However, by 12:30 PM, the restaurant was almost full, so plan your visit early to avoid a queue. We ordered several Thalis: Prawns Masala, Prawns Curry, and Surmai Curry, along with a plate of Surmai Fry. The Prawns Masala was awesome, and the other thalis were good too. The Surmai Fry came with two good-sized pieces and was amazing. The outdoor seating area needs a bit of maintenance, but otherwise, it was a great dining experience.
